LUKAS FRIEDLICH, XENIA LESNIEWSKI & LINDA NADJI

ReiseBüro curated by Elisabeth Windisch und Julia Moebus-Puck

Installation view Quartier am Hafen, Cologne, Germany 2022

ReiseBüro have brought together internationally active artists who have dealt with the most diverse aspects of the theme of travel. Starting with the romantic "longing for paradise", "Fasten your Seatbelts" went straight into the crisis, which was then transformed into various forms of the travel movement in "The ism in Tourism". With the exhibition "ReiseBüro - Point of no return" they started their last journey with the artists Lukas Friedlich, Xenia Lesniewski and Linda Nadji. All three positions deal with journeys that are a risk, mean crossing borders and sometimes lead into other, unknown spheres. They all consider the so-called end as a beginning, artistically framing the "The way things go". While Lukas Friedrich shows predominantly painterly works that involve the entire space and lead the external environment inward, Xenia Lesniewski presents us the socially and predominantly Western way of dealing with death. In Linda Nadji's works there are constant references to her Persian family history. Her latest duo work with Bahar Batvand symbolically manifests this origin as a self-contained cycle.
