Xenia Lesniewski is an ultra-contemporary, multidisciplinary artist. Her practice evolves in fluid transitions between painting, installation, video, performance, and collective practice. Her oeuvre operates at the intersection of art and everyday life, engaging with and addressing contemporary socio-political issues. Multiplicity and simultaneity manifest themselves in her cross-disciplinary and process-oriented practice. She is a co-founder and active member of the artist collective CLUB FORTUNA. Many of Lesniewski's interventions are linked by an activist approach that liquefies classical categories and role models of the art world.
Lesniewski has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. Solo exhibitions have included the Dortmunder Kunstverein, MLAG Bergen and Quartier21 in Vienna. She has presented her video works at the Berlinale, the International Film Festival Oberhausen and several times at the Rencontres Internationales Berlin/Madrid/Paris. Lesniewski’s work with her artist collective Club Fortuna has been shown at the 12th Krasnoyarks Museum Biennale in Siberia, as part of the colleteral events of MANIFESTA 12 in Palermo, and most recently at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb.
